Knee injury ends Leinster flanker Dan Leavy's season

Leinster will miss the services of Ireland flanker Dan Leavy for the remainder of the season following a knee injury.

Leavy, who has played 11 Tests for Ireland between 2016 and 2018 suffered the injury during the game against Scarlets last month and has now 'had a procedure to repair cartilage in his knee and will be out of action for the rest of the season' according to a statement released by the club.

The 26-year-old is expected to return to full fitness ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Meanwhile, the club also confirmed that Rory O’Loughlin will be available for selection after recovery from a shoulder injury along with Tommy O’Brien, who has overcome an ankle injury.

Adam Byrne, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury since the end of the previous season is being assessed.

Leinster hold the top place in Conference A of Pro14 table with 10 wins from 11 games and will face Dragons next at Rodney Parade on 20th February.
