Harlequins have confirmed that England prop Joe Marler has penned a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

A product of Harlequins Academy, the 32-year-old became an integral part of the club since his professional rugby debut in 2009.

Marler has racked up over 250 appearances for the club and was part of the squad that went on to win the Premiership titles in 2012 and 2021 along with a Challenge Cup triumph in 2011.

He also has featured for England in 79 Tests with his last appearance coming in last year's Six Nations game against France.

“I love this club. I love the fans and I love pulling on this jersey. I feel honoured and privileged to have been able to do that for so long and hopefully be able to retire from the game at this wonderful club where it all started for me," he told the club's official website.

“The biggest thing for me, I think, is how grateful I am to the Club as a whole.

"The various managements that have come and gone, the players and fans that have allowed me to express myself, be who I want to be and have stood by me even when I’ve not been on my best behaviour.

“I’m really looking forward to spending the remainder of my career at the club where it all started.”
