This interview comes courtesy of Bsynergie Sports Management & Talking Rugby Union www.talkingrugbyunion.co.uk

    • Just so fans can get to know you, can you tell us a little bit about yourself. What position do you play, which club side/international side have you represented? How would you describe your style of play?

JB (Jared Barry)- I'm 23 and from Sydney, Australia. I play in the back row and also in the 2nd Row. I have been playing for Eastwood Rugby in Shute Shield Competition in NSW, where Eastwood only lost 1 game in the regular season, up until I came to Italy.  I am a ball running forward who loves an offload.

    • Your club side Femi-CZ Rovigo come up against British side London Wasps in this year's Amlin Challenge Cup. Are you excited about the prospect of playing against Wasps? How do you rate your chances of coming away with a victory?

JB- I am extremely excited to play against Wasps. It will be a massive challenge. Wasps have been a good side for so long and I no we will definitely be in for a hard game but I am always confident of getting a win in every game I play.

    • What are your thoughts on Femi-CZ Rovigo's Amlin Challenge Cup Group, a group which includes London Wasps and French pair Bayonne & Bordeaux- Begles? Do you fancy your chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition?

JB-  It is a hard pool especially with Bayonne signing ex internationals such as Mark Chisholm and Joe Rockocko but I am really excited to test my self against these top players and like I said before I am always confident and I think we will definitely pressure these teams to get through to the knock out stages.

    • Who is your rugby hero?

JB- My rugby hero is probably Richie McCaw, just an awesome professional and fantastic athlete, the perfect example of a rugby professional that puts everything on the line for his team. I will of course be looking to replicate the success that ex Wallaby legend number 8 Viliami Ofahengaue enoyed whilst playing for Rovigo in Italy. I realise I have a lot to live up to and the expectations will be high. If I can come anywhere near the sort of level Ofa showed throughout his career then I will be happy.

    • What do you enjoy the most about rugby?

JB-  The mateship is the one thing I enjoy the most and I think when I finish playing it is the one thing I will miss the most.

    • Who would you love to play in the same rugby team as i.e. a dream player?

JB- Richie McCaw from the All Blacks and Canterbury Crusaders. You just know he will be there and never take a backward step.

Hero (not rugby related)?

JB- Hero - clique but definitely my mum and dad, they have done so much for me, my brother and sister since we were born and sacrificed so much for us to have a good life so I would definitely say them.

    • Favourite sport/team (not rugby related)?

JB- Everton FC in the English Premier League.  Mainly just because Tim Cahill plays for them and he is the man and of course he is an Aussie.

    • What do you like to do in your spare time when not playing rugby?

JB- In my spare time I have my own clothing label called "Yellow Toothbrush (cheeky plug) and I also love doing graphic design on other stuff other then clothes.. I love my music and just relaxing away from footy.

    • What do you think of talkingrugbyunion.co.uk?

JB- I really like it. I have been checking it out a lot lately and I'm looking forward for the coverage and exposure of the Amlin Challenge Cup on talkingrugbyunion.co.uk.
