Japan will face Wales in a two-test series this July, as part of their 2025 domestic match schedule announced by the Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU).
The fixtures will take place at Mikuni World Stadium Kitakyushu on July 5 and Noevir Stadium Kobe on July 12.
This will mark an important challenge for Eddie Jones' Brave Blossoms, who are continuing their preparations for future international competitions.
The opening match in Kitakyushu will be a return to familiar ground for Wales, as the team previously based their training camp there during the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
The southwestern city in Kyushu holds special significance for the Welsh squad, who received strong local support during their campaign in Japan five years ago.
Beyond the Wales test series, Japan has lined up a series of high-profile fixtures, starting with a non-test match against the New Zealand Maori on June 28 at Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground in Tokyo.
In August, Japan will take part in the Pacific Nations Cup, where they will host Canada on August 30 at Yurtec Stadium Sendai. The schedule will conclude with a test match against Australia on October 25 at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
This match will reunite Japan with Jones' former team, the Wallabies, who hold an undefeated record in their six previous meetings against Japan.
