Edinburgh have confirmed that Scotland second-row Jamie Hodgson has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
Hodgson made his professional rugby debut with Edinburgh in 2018 and has featured in eight games this season, having spent a period on the sidelines recovering from an ankle injury earlier this year.
He made his 50th appearance for Edinburgh in January last year and overall has 61 appearances for the club.
The 26-year-old made his debut for Scotland in 2021 and has five Test appearances to his name.
“I’m thrilled to extend terms with my hometown team. I love the direction we’re moving in as club and it’s a real honour to represent the city and our fans every time I run out at Hive Stadium," said Hodgson to the club's official website.
“Edinburgh is my home, and Edinburgh Rugby is my club. The passion of the supporters here is amazing, and it gives you that extra push on the pitch every week.
“I’m determined to repay their faith and wear this jersey with pride for the next two years. We’ve got a talented squad and a quality coaching team, and I truly believe we can achieve something special together.
“With three crucial games coming up, the support of the Edinburgh fans will be massive as we push for the play-offs. Hopefully I can play my part in what could be a really exciting end to the season.”
Edinburgh are positioned ninth in the United Rugby Championship table with 10 wins from 15 matches.
