Scorecard

Jaguares came up with a strong second half performance as they managed to overcome stern resistance from Rebels with a 29-32 win in the final round of Super Rugby at AAMI Park on Friday.

The first quarter saw Rebels centre Reece Hodge slotting three penalties while Nicholas Sanchez added a three-pointer to bring down the difference between the two teams to six points.

Hodge further upped the ante with a converted try and also followed it with his fourth penalty but Jaguares made a brief comeback when Santiago Cordero strolled past the post as Rebels gained a 19-10 lead at half time.

The second half saw Sanchez and Hodge exchange penalties but tries from Guido Petti Pagadizaval, Gonzalo Bertranou and Cordero saw Jaguares gain a lead of 10 points for the first time in the game.

Despite, a last minute desperate effort from Steven Cummins, Rebels were edged out by three points and they finished last in Australian Conference while Jaguares claimed the third position in Africa 2 Conference.
