Toulouse have been dealt a blow ahead of their round-of-16 clash against Heineken Champions Cup against Munster after French international Sofiane Guitoune sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament tear to his knee.

The 32-year-old suffered the injury during the recently concluded Top 14 game against Montpellier at Stade Ernest-Wallon which Toulouse went on to lose 16-29.

Guitoune, who has played nine Tests for France recently only returned to action after spending two months on the sidelines due to another injury.

The French side are already without Thomas Ramos, who had a calf injury and is expected to be out for six weeks while Juan Cruz Mallia missed the game against Montpellier with a hand injury.

Pierre Fouyssac is out with a tendon issue while Lucas Tauzin and Arthur Bonneval are also nursing injuries.

Toulouse hold the top place in the Top 14 table with 14 wins from 20 games.
