Welsh international lock Jake Ball is set for a lay-off that threatens his involvement in the RBS 6 Nations after suffering a knee injury.
The 24-year-old second row who currently plies his domestic trade with Scarlets in Wales was hurt during the Boxing Day match against Ospreys in the Guinness PRO12.
Ball could potentially be out of action for up to 10 weeks, according to reports, and he wrote on Twitter: " Absolutely Gutted with injury thanks to everyone who sent messages. Be back bigger and stronger in the new year."
Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac told BBC Sport: "He's got a bit of a tear and he'll see a consultant to get an accurate view. With any luck, it's just a rehab job."
Wales begin their Six Nations campaign on February 7th against Ireland before facing Scotland and France later that same month. Warren Gatland's side play England and Italy in March.
