England will lose the services of wing Henry Arundell at least until 2026 after he has signed a contract extension with French club Racing 92.

Arundell joined Racing in June this year after London Irish went into administration despite which he was part of England's Rugby World Cup campaign in France where he scored joint record five tries during the game against Chile.

The 21-year-old made his England debut in July 2022 against Australia and has 10 Test caps to his name.

Earlier, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney told in October that Arundell will still be eligible to represent England in the upcoming Six Nations tournament under 'special circumstances' considering his previous club London Irish collapsed due to financial difficulties.

However, the new contract extension means he would be ineligible for the England selection due to Rugby Football Union's policy of not selecting players plying trade overseas.

Racing president Laurent Travers announced the news on Arundell's contract extension.

"He fits perfectly into the club's short and medium-term objectives," he said on Tuesday.

"We are convinced that he will be one of the driving forces to achieve them.

"He joined our squad just a few weeks ago but has already demonstrated all these qualities of a great competitor and great maturity."
