Glasgow Warriors prop Alex Allan has been suspended for three weeks following his red-card incident during the recently concluded Pro14 game against Scarlets at Scotstoun last weekend.

Allan was sent-off during the 19th minute of the game for a dangerous tackle and despite the setback the Warriors went on to win the game 29-20.

The 26-year-old appeared before an independent disciplinary committee and was proved guilty of the charges. He was initially suspended for six weeks which was reduced into half considering his conduct during the hearing and other mitigating factors.

As a result, Allan will miss Glasgow's European Champions Cup double-header against Lyon and the Pro 14 encounter against Edinburgh and will free to resume playing on 23rd December.

Glasgow Warriors are currently at the top of the Conference A Pro 14 table with eight wins from 10 games.
