Glasgow Warriors have named Callum Gibbins and Ryan Wilson as the co-captains for the 2018/19 season.

Wilson has been with the Glasgow based outfit since 2010 and led them in the last season. He has played for Scotland in 37 Tests since making his debut in March 2013.

Meanwhile, Gibbins shifted to Scotstoun Stadium from Super Rugby club Hurricanes in 2017 and captained them in the absence of Wilson due to injury or international duty.

Glasgow head coach Dave Rennie expressed confidence on the duo's ability to inspire the club in the upcoming season.

"They work really well together and we have a big squad of 50 players, which is a lot to manage," Rennie said.

"They have complimentary skills, are both very passionate about this club and are hugely respected by all."

Glasgow Warriors will kick-start their Pro14 season with a trip to Sportsground when they take on Connacht on 1st September while their European Champions Cup campaign will begin with a clash against Saracens at Scotstoun Stadium on 14th October.
