England and Bath fly-half George Ford has turned down time off from England training following his father, Mike Ford's sacking as head coach of Bath Rugby.

Red Rose head coach Eddie Jones has revealed the 22-year-old was keen to work with the rest of the squad at Brighton College.

Ford displayed his usual professionalism and commitment as England prepare for a Test match against Wales scheduled to be played on 29th of May at Twickenham Stadium in London.

It was reported earlier this week, Ford was understood to be deeply upset after his father decided to part ways with Bath following a meeting on Monday with owner Bruce Craig and managing director Tarquin McDonald.

Jones offered his player time off from the training, however, Ford declined the offer and continued training along with the rest of the squad.

"Well, he is playing for England now. He doesn't have to worry about his club.

"All that he has to worry about is playing well for England and, given the circumstances, I had a quick chat with him yesterday and said 'if you want to have a couple of days off?'

"He said, 'No I want to train'. He's here, he trained well today and is fully committed to be the best player that he can be."

Players from Saracens, Exeter, Wasps and Leicester have not been included in the training camp as the teams will be competing in the Aviva Premiership play-offs on 21st May.

The 26-man squad is currently preparing themselves for tour down-under as the Six Nations Grand Slam Champions are scheduled to play a three-Test series against Australia in June.
