Newcastle Falcons fullback Tom Penny becomes the latest player to extend his stay at the club after penning a new two-year contract extension.

Penny joined Falcons' Academy at the age of 11 before going on to make his senior debut with the club in 2013. He made a switch to Harlequins in 2019 before rejoining the Falcons for a second stint in 2020.

Overall, the 27-year-old has made 72 appearances for the club.

“It was a very easy decision for me., he told the club's official website.

“I’m really happy to re-sign here, it’s my boyhood club and this will be something like my tenth season with the Falcons.

“I love the club, I love the boys and it was a very simple call when I was given the opportunity to sign for another two seasons. I used to come and watch the games at Kingston Park when I was a kid, and to be pulling on the Falcons’ shirt now as a player is really special.

“I had a short spell at Harlequins which gave me a slightly different perspective on things, and it’s always interesting to see other set-ups and ways of operating. I love what we have here at Newcastle, and I’m excited about remaining part of things.”

Newcastle Falcons are positioned 11th in the Gallagher Premiership table with six wins from 20 matches.
