Bristol Bears have confirmed that second row Josh Caulfield will be joining the Gallagher Premiership club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 26-year-old made his professional rugby debut with Cornish Pirates and also represented Premiership sides Exeter Chiefs and Wasps. He has gone on to play 105 times for the Championship side.

Caulfield, who had also represented England at the Under 18 and Under 20 levels made 12 Premiership appearances for the Exiles in the last season before the club entered into administration following financial difficulties.

Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam is pleased with the signing of Caulfield.

“Josh is a local lad with a great attitude and desire to improve, so we’re pleased to be able to bolster our second-row ranks and add even more competition for places," said Lam to the club's official website.

“He is hard-working, versatile and has good experience in the Championship and Premiership, so we’re pleased to welcome him to the Bears family.”
