Former London Irish centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg joins Bristol Bears

Bristol Bears have announced the signing of former London Irish centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The South African midfielder, who can operate at inside and outside centre and also cover fly-half will link up with the squad during their pre-season training which kicks-off on 19th June.

He has also featured for the Exiles in over 50 games and has 11 Premiership tries to his name. The 26-year-old also had represented Sharks, Cheetahs and NEC Green Rockets in the past while also featuring for the South African Under 20 side.

“I’m excited to be at Bristol Bears. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for me, but I’m pleased to be here in Bristol and can’t wait to get started with the Bears," he told the club's official website.

“The facilities here are incredible and I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates when pre-season starts on Monday. I’m ambitious to grow my game and help the team in any way that I can.”
