Leicester Tigers have announced that former England international Mike Brown will join the Gallagher Premiership club beyond the current season.

Brown joined Leicester on short-term contract in 2023 and has made five appearances for the club scoring two tries.

The 37-year-old had a stellar career with Harlequins between 2005 and 2021 during which he racked up over 350 appearances for the club and has won two Premiership titles with them.

He joined Newcastle Falcons in 2021 but was without a club since the Falcons opted not to take up the option of an extra year in 2022.

The 6ft fullback was featured in 72 Tests for England between 2007 and 2018 during which he went on to win three Six Nations titles.

“Since arriving, I have been really impressed with the environment here at Leicester Tigers and feel that they fit with the values I have as a person and a rugby player," he told the club's official website.

“I have really enjoyed working the quality of players in this squad and coaches, which I want to continue to do and am excited to keep doing."

Meanwhile, the club also confirmed that Ollie Hassell-Collins will be joining them ahead of the 2023/24 season from rivals London Irish.

A product of Exiles Academy, he has played 101 times for London Irish scoring 43 tries.

“It’s the biggest club in England and hard to say no, when they want to come and chat with you. It excites me a lot, being a part of Leicester Tigers," he said.

“I know some of the guys and am looking forward to being a part of the young group and what is a pretty crazy potential line-up in the backline.

“It’s a hell of a ground, Mattioli Woods Welford Road, and when you think about Leicester Tigers, you think about the stadium and crowd, how hostile it is, and it’s exciting to know I’ll be on the home side of that.”
