Reds 36-14 Brumbies, Suncorp Stadium
Scorecard

Queensland Reds came up with a five-try performance as they went on to trounce Brumbies 36-14 in their Super Rugby clash at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

This is Reds' second consecutive win as they move past Sunwolves to fourth place in the Australian Conference while Brumbies are positioned third in the group.

After the first 12 minutes went without a point, Scott Higginbotham dived over the line to score the opening try for Reds and Bryce Hegarty followed with a conversion to make it 7-0. The fly-half then kicked his maiden penalty goal in the 30th minute as the home side scored 10 unanswered points before the break.

The Brumbies finally broke the deadlock when Henry Speight crashed in the corner two minutes into the second half and a conversion from Christian Leali'ifano reduced the gap to three points.

Nevertheless, Reds regained control with back to back tries from Chris Feauai-Sautia (48') and Tate McDermott (50') and with Hegarty improving on both the occasions, the scoreline became 24-7.

A touchdown from Jahrome Brown in the 71st minute gave the visitors a glimmer of hope but further tries from Hegarty (75') and Brandon Paenga-Amosa (80') ensured Reds completed a 22 point victory.
