Scorecard

Exeter Chiefs created a Premiership Rugby record by registering their seventh consecutive bonus point victory as they trounced Northampton Saints by 36-12 at Sandy Park on Saturday.

The win also has taken them to 79 points in the table from 21 games that has levelled them with table toppers Wasps and are closely followed by Saracens with 77 points.

Even though fly half JJ Hanrahan scored a converted try to start the proceedings for Northampton Saints, Don Armand and Olly Woodburn crossed over for the hosts with Gareth Steenson adding a conversion on one occasion to gain a 10 point lead for the hosts at half time.

The second try from Exeter came after Northampton's Ken Pisi was sin-binned after he was adjudged to have knocked-on deliberately.

The intent from Exeter Chiefs were evident in the second half when Ian Whitten (41'), Jack Nowell (57') and Sam Hill (68') along with a second try from Woodburn took them to 36 points while a consolation try from Northampton's Ahsee Tuala reduced the defeat margin to 24 points.

Exeter Chiefs will take on Gloucester at Kingsholm on 6th May in their final league game this season.
