Exeter Chiefs have announced that full-back Tommy Wyatt has signed a contract extension with the Premiership club.

Wyatt started his career with North Petherton RFC in 2018 and went on to make a couple of appearances for the Exeter Chiefs Braves side before makings his full debut for the club.

In 2019, he joined Taunton on loan and joined Cornish Pirates on dual registration in 2020. He has overall made 36 appearances for Exeter Chiefs scoring nine tries across all competitions.

"I'm really excited for the new few years in an Exeter Chiefs shirt," he told the club's official website.

"I've relished my time at Sandy Park so far and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next."

Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter had high praises for Wyatt and is delighted that he has remained committed to the club.

“We’re delighted to have re-signed Tommy. He was part of a young and exciting squad that really went after things in the Premiership Cup and then followed that into the Premiership.

“Tommy at the start of the season was like a steam train. He’s very strong on the ball and he was making numerous breaks from behind the line. He was very safe and very strong for us. He was tearing it up in the Premiership – leading the way in a number of charts.

“Unfortunately, he picked up a serious injury but he’s rehabbing very well, and we’re pleased with how he’s adapted to that process. We’re really looking forward to seeing him next season, as we know he’ll come back fighting fit and he’ll hopefully have even more of a positive impact for us.”
