England coach Eddie Jones has named eight-uncapped players in the 34-man squad for the upcoming Six Nations campaign that kicks-off on 1st February.

Wasps fly-half Jacob Umaga, prop Will Stuart, flanker Ben Earl and wing Ollie Thorley are all part of the squad along with centre Fraser Dingwall, full-back George Furbank, lock Alex Moon and hooker Tom Dunn.

Saracens number eight Billy Vunipola, who sustained a broken forearm during the recently concluded Champions Cup game against Racing 92 has been left out while Jack Nowell also misses out as he might undergo a surgery following an ankle surgery with other notable exclusions include Dan Cole, Piers Francis, Joe Cokanasiga, Ruaridh McConnochie, Jack Nowell and Henry Slade.

The squad comprises of 22 players from the World Cup squad that reached the final and will assemble at Pennyhill Park on Wednesday and will head to Portugal for a training camp on Thursday as they step up their preparations for their tournament opener against France in Paris on 2nd February.

Apart from the 34 players, Northampton Saints' Alex Mitchell and Newcastle Falcons' Josh Hodge are included as apprentice players.

“The Guinness Six Nations for us is all about raising the standards in terms of the way we prepare, tactically and physically how we play the game, and the way we come together off the field," said Jones in a statement released by the RFU.

“But our first task is beating France in France and that is the only game we need to worry about. We will begin our preparations in Portugal, get a bit of sun, some warm conditions and get ourselves physically and mentally right for the game.

"The first three days will be about getting organised. We have got players from 11 clubs so we need to get everyone on the same page quickly, spend a lot of time working on our togetherness and then by Tuesday next week we are in Test preparation for France.”
