Leicester Tigers have announced that eight players including experienced wing Adam Thompstone will make an exit from the Gallagher Premiership club.

Thompstone joined Leicester Tigers from London Irish in 2012 and has played over 100 Premiership games scoring 24 tries. He will be joined by Australia international Tatafu Polota-Nau, backs EW Viljoen and Joe Thomas along with Will Spencer, Gaston Cortes, Sione Kalamafoni and Owen Hills.

The club had already confirmed that England international Jonny May will be leaving the club to rejoin Gloucester while Jonah Holmes was released from the final year of the contract.

Leicester Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy will step up as director of rugby of the club in July with Steve Borthwick joining the coaching panel.

"We thank each of our departing senior players for all they have contributed to the club, on and off the pitch," said Murphy.

"In their own way, over their own different periods of time, they have all added to the history of Leicester.

"They enter an exclusive group of 'Droglites' and will forever be able to say they represented this proud club."
