Munster Rugby have confirmed that lock Edwin Edogbo has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the province until at least 2027.
Edwin Edogbo Contract Extension Confirmed
Edogbo’s extension comes as an important boost for Munster, who have faced a challenging season in recent months.
The 23-year-old has already established himself as a valuable part of the squad and is seen as one of the province’s promising long-term options in the second row.
Edwin Edogbo Munster Career So Far
Edogbo has scored seven tries in 29 appearances for Munster to date and has featured 14 times in the current campaign. One of the notable moments this season was his Champions Cup debut against Bath, which marked another step forward in his development at senior level.
Edogbo played his early rugby with Cobh Pirates and UCC before becoming the first player from Cobh to enter the Munster Rugby Academy in 2021. Since then, he has continued to progress through the ranks and earn greater responsibility within the squad.
Ireland Debut Adds To Edogbo Progress
The contract news follows an important milestone in Edogbo’s career after he made his Ireland debut against Italy in this year’s Six Nations.
The extension also arrives at a time when Munster are dealing with financial pressure and a disappointing season that saw exits from both the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.
