The ACT Brumbies have secured the services of versatile back Declan Meredith, who has signed a new two-year contract that will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2027 season.
Meredith, 25, has already made 13 appearances for the Brumbies, with a standout performance in the 2025 season that included a try in the team’s landmark 21-20 win over the Blues at Eden Park in March.
Sharing his excitement about the contract extension, Meredith stated, "I'm very happy and excited to be able to stay at the Brumbies for a couple more years.
"The club gave me the first opportunity to make my mark in the sport and I'm extremely grateful."
A native of Cairns, Queensland, Meredith began his rugby journey with the Barron Trinity Bulls. He moved to Canberra in 2019 to join the Brumbies’ Elite Development Squad and later represented the Wests Lions in the John I Dent Cup.
His outstanding play during that time earned him the prestigious MacDougall Medal in 2023, awarded to the competition’s best player.
Brumbies CEO Phil Thomson commended Meredith’s progress and praised his importance to the squad, stating, "We're very happy that Declan has committed his future to the club. He's an exciting talent who has grown immensely since he arrived in 2019.
"His versatility in the backline is a huge asset to us, with the ability to play in several different positions."
