Brumbies centre Chance Peni has been handed a six-week ban following a dangerous tackle during a club game in Canberra.

Peni, who was playing in the Canberra’s club rugby competition John I Dent Cup where he represented Wests was red-carded for a tip tackle.

This was also the fourth time the 24-year-old was banned in 13 months and he will be eligible to return to action on 11th August but with Brumbies unlikely to make it to the play-off Peni's season looks all but over.

Brumbies are currently positioned third in Australian Conference with five wins from 13 games and are set to face Hurricanes next on Saturday.
