Jaco Visagie scored the decisive try in the 75th minute and Handre Pollard followed with the conversion as Bulls snatched a 24-24 draw in their Super Rugby encounter at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Friday.

Dylan Sage spilled a kick from Aaron Smith allowing Josh McKay to collect the ball and dot down in the 12th minute and Josh Ioane followed with the conversion. The Bulls thought they replied back shortly when Jason Jenkins went over the line but was ruled out by TMO after Schalk Brits was found guilty of knock-on in the built up.

Nevertheless, Waisake Naholo stretched Highlanders' lead to 12 points with a try in the 22nd minute before the visitors opened their account through a touchdown from Divan Rossouw in the 28th minute. With McKay and Jenkins trading tries before the break, Highlanders had a 19-14 lead heading into the second half.

Naholo with his second in the 54th minute stretched Highlanders' lead to 10 points but a penalty goal from Pollard in the 58th minute brought the gap down to seven points.

As the closing stage of the game was approaching, Visagie made full use of a pass from Pollard to cross over in the 75th minute that was improved by the fly-half ending the game in a 24-24 draw.
