The Blues have confirmed that Eden Park will remain their home venue for the next two Super Rugby Pacific seasons, ending speculation about a possible switch to Mt Smart Stadium.

The decision follows extensive consultation with fans, members, commercial partners, players, and community stakeholders. The Blues said surveys and forums showed overwhelming support for Eden Park, citing its scale, history, and match-day atmosphere.

Blues spokesperson Todd Hewitt said the franchise was committed to delivering the best possible experience at the iconic ground.

“We’re pleased to continue calling Eden Park home. Our fans made it clear that Eden Park provides the scale and history that matches the ambition of the Blues.

"We will continue to work hard around creating the best in-venue experience for our people going forward,” he said.

Eden Park chief executive Nick Sautner also welcomed the renewal of the partnership.

“Eden Park has been home to the Blues since 1996, and we’re delighted to be hosting the team for their 2026 and 2027 seasons.

"We’re equally thrilled to be welcoming back the nib Blues, who are building their own legacy here at New Zealand’s national stadium.”

The Blues confirmed that all home matches in 2026 will be played at Eden Park, with the exception of their Anzac Day fixture against the Reds, which will take place in Christchurch as part of Super Round.

The Blues will kick off their 2026 Super Rugby Pacific campaign against the Chiefs at Eden Park on Saturday, 14 February, continuing their long-standing tradition of opening the season at home.
