Scotland international fly-half Ben Healy has signed a one-year contract extension with Edinburgh Rugby, confirming his stay at the club through the 2025/26 season.

The decision reflects both the club’s trust in his abilities and Healy’s own commitment to furthering his development in the Scottish capital.

Since arriving ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Healy has quickly established himself as a central figure in the squad. In his debut season, he started all 23 matches and contributed a remarkable 218 points, proving instrumental in Edinburgh’s push across both the United Rugby Championship and European competitions.

A native of Tipperary, Healy progressed through Glenstal Abbey and the Munster Academy before making his professional debut in 2019.

He was also part of Munster’s URC-winning squad in 2023, starting the semi-final against Leinster and coming off the bench in the final against the Stormers.

Eligible for Scotland through his maternal grandparents, Healy made his international debut in the 2023 Six Nations against Italy. Since then, he has earned 10 caps and continues to grow in stature on the global stage.

This season, however, has brought some challenges. A knee injury limited his involvement to just 14 appearances, though he has recently returned to action in time to help Edinburgh’s campaign for a URC play-off spot and a potential EPCR Challenge Cup semi-final.
