Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has called up French bound Lucio Sordoni to the squad for the final two rounds of the Rugby Championship games against the South Africa.
Sordoni will be part of the 24-man squad and will replace Eduardo Bello, who will undergo a surgery after he sustained an injury during the previous round clash against Australia in Santa Fe which the Pumas went on to lose 67-27.
The 26-year-old started his professional rugby career with Jaguares and also had represented Mont-de-Marsan, Glasgow Warriors and Rebels in the past. He recently joined Racing 92 as a medical joker to provide cover for Demba Bamba.
“The Rugby Championship final is coming up and it is a very important moment for us, given that we are going to face the two-time world champions,” Contepomi said.
Following their win over Australia in Santa Fe, Argentina are positioned second in the Rugby Championship table with 10 points from four matches. They will now take on the Springboks on 21st and 28th September.
