Northampton Saints and flanker Angus Scott-Young have parted ways by mutual agreement, with the 28-year-old heading back to Australia immediately.

The Brisbane-born player made 77 appearances across three and a half seasons for the club.

Scott-Young joined from the Queensland Reds in the summer of 2022.

During his time at Franklin’s Gardens, he became one of the team’s most consistent performers, registering over 20 appearances each season and leading the squad as their most-used player last term with 28 outings across three competitions.

His contributions helped the Saints lift the Premiership title in 2023-24 and reach the Champions Cup final in 2024-25.

On his departure, Scott-Young reflected: “I’ll look back so fondly on all the memories and the friendships that I’ve made here at Saints. It’s been an amazing experience.

“But now feels like the right time for me to get back home to Australia. I went to my brother’s wedding a few weeks ago; that was the first time my family had all been together in about seven years, and I got to meet my niece for the first time.

"That really hit home for me, and being closer to my family became the biggest driver for this decision.

The Saints thanked Scott-Young for his professionalism, work-rate and community engagement, noting he will "always be part of the Saints family."
