Premiership Rugby has confirmed that Andrew Higginson has been appointed as the new chairman.
Higginson is currently the chairman of Morrison’s supermarket and was also an independent director of the Rugby Football Union from 2011 to 2016. He was also appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of online parking portal YourParkingSpace in October last year.
“This is an exciting time for club rugby with outstanding talent in the game, substantial opportunities for growth and the support of an experienced investment partner," he told to the official website of Premiership Rugby.
"Alongside the rest of the Board, I look forward to working with Darren and the team at Premiership Rugby to help deliver the vision of an even more popular and successful sport in the years ahead.”
Higginson will take over his role with Premiership Rugby from 1st January 2020.
