2024 Women's Six Rugby Championship Points System

Here is how points will be awarded at the 2024 Women's Six Rugby Championship:

Each win consists of four points, which means if a draw occurs, each side will be awarded two points. The team that scores four tries and above or loses by seven points or below will receive an extra point.

If a team wins five of its matches (Grand Slam), it will receive three bonus points, ensuring it tops the table with at least 23 points.

If two teams tie on points, the difference between the total points scored and the total points conceded will determine which team is ranked higher. If the trams have the same points difference, the team with more tries (penalties included) will be ranked higher.

If the two teams still have the same number of points, points difference, and tries, they will be ranked equally.

Final Word

A lot of pundits believe England is still the favourite to win this year's Women's Six Nations Championship because they have managed to win the last five titles in a row, including last year, and have secured 19 championships in the history of this competition.

While this is so, England's new coach, Joseph Mitchell, who is looking to extend their winning streak, is expected to face stiff competition, especially against France, who have finished runners-up in the last four years.

Besides, The Red Roses will enter the competition without Claudia MacDonald and Poppy Cleall. MacDonald suffered a neck injury, while Cleall received a two-match ban for swearing at a referee.

Nonetheless, it's only a matter of time before we see whether England will make it six championship victories in a row.
