2003 World Cup winner Ben Cohen recalls his memories of English rugby’s greatest game.
As part of a series of interviews conducted by Heathrow Express, who are sponsoring the England Legends v Australia Legends match at The Stoop on 31st October, he says that his favourite moment was ‘the obvious – the final whistle’; a moment which ‘made the entire squad of players and staff’s dreams come true’.
For England, the 2003 World Cup final ended with the perfect results, and the memory of that game will be forever burned into the memories of the players and fans alike, but can lightning strike twice?
The England Legends teams, which include players who were on the field of the Telstra Dome in Sydney, will be hoping for a repeat win over their Australian counterparts at the Twickenham Stoop.
The game has been organised by Sportingclass and Harvey Thorneycroft Ltd and is being dubbed 'The Repeat Of The 2003 World Cup Final...Well Almost!'
The players are taking to the field in order to raise money for Restart and The Injured Players Foundation.
