Rugby Broadcaster John Inverdale fondly remembers what ‘people back home were thinking’, as he summarises his thoughts on the 2003 Rugby World Cup in 15 Seconds.
As part of a series of interviews conducted by Heathrow Express, who are sponsoring the England Legends v Australia Legends match at The Stoop on the 31st of October, Inverdale, who 'was lucky enough to be there', says his biggest memory was realising how many people back home were ‘spending their Saturday morning "in the moment.'"
10 years ago the perfect game, ended with the perfect result for England, as Jonny Wilkinson dropped for World Cup glory.
With just over a week to go until the legends game at the Twickenham Stoop, which will include players from the 2003 final, the event has been dubbed by organisers Sportingclass and Harvey Thorneycroft Ltd as ‘The Repeat Of The 2003 World Cup Final… Well Almost!’
The players are taking to the field in order to raise money for Restart and The Injured Players Foundation.
