Wales have received much-needed boost ahead of their Six Nations clash against England at Principality Stadium with Dan Biggar and Leigh Halfpenny included in the squad.

Biggar sustained a knee injury while playing for his club Northampton Saints during last weekend's Gallagher Premiership encounter against Sale Sharks where he featured for just 20 minutes before he left the field but has resumed training with the national side.

Meanwhile, Halfpenny has been out of action since the 10th November autumn international match against Australia where he suffered a head knock.

The 30-year-old participated in full contact training with Scarlets but was left out of their Pro14 clash against Benetton Treviso last weekend which means he hasn't featured in any game for over three months.

Wales assistant coach Rob Howley confirmed the news on the duo and said any decision on their inclusion in the squad will be taken in due course of time.

"This morning, [Biggar] has come in, he will have some physio and he will be able to take part in training, which is a huge positive for us," Howley told WRU TV.

"He [Halfpenny] trained with us last week and we will integrate again this week.

"Any news on selection will be taken at the end of the week."

Wales are positioned second in the Six Nations table after winning both their games and are currently on a 11-game winning streak.
