Wales name Sevens squad for World Cup

Wales have announced their squad for the Rugby Sevens World Cup which begins this Friday.

Adam Thomas will lead the squad in San Francisco with Luke Morgan also included.

Cory Allen and Lloyd Williams both appeared for Wales in 2015 XV-a-side World Cup three years ago and will now represent their country on the Sevens stage.

Head Coach Gareth Williams said: "This is a great culmination to our season. The World Cup has been an aim of ours for 18 months and we're excited with the squad we have put together.”

Wales begin their tournament at 22:07 (BST) against Zimbabwe with the winner progressing to the next round where they will face hosts, USA.

Wales Sevens squad: Luke Treharne, Ethan Davies, Lloyd Williams, Luke Morgan, Owen Jenkins, Tom Williams, Cory Allen, Afon Bagshaw, Adam Thomas, Cai Devine, Jared Rosser, Ben Roach, Will Talbot-Davies.
