Wales head coach Wayne Pivac has recalled Ospreys wing Alex Cuthbert into the squad for the upcoming autumn international campaign.

Cuthbert last played for Wales in November 2017 since he headed to Exeter Chiefs which made him ineligible for national selection as they do not pick players plying trade overseas under 60 caps.

Nevertheless, the 31-year-old returned back to Welsh province in June after signing a contract with Ospreys.

Cuthbert made his debut for Wales in 2011 featuring in 47 Tests and also had a solitary appearance for the British and Irish Lions during the 2013 tour of Australia.

Wales will be kick-starting their autumn international campaign against New Zealand on 30th October but since the fixture falls outside the traditional international window they are likely to miss the services of Dan Biggar, Callum Sheedy, Louis Rees-Zammit, Taulupe Faletau, Nick Tompkins, Thomas Young and Christ Tshiunza.

Following the game against New Zealand, Wales will also be facing South Africa, Fiji and Australia on 6th, 14th and 20th November respectively.
