Stormers 35-8 Jaguares, DHL Newlands

Stormers came up with a clinical performance as they went on trounce Jaguares 35-8 in their Super Rugby encounter at DHL Newlands on Friday.

This is Stormers' third consecutive win in the season as they are positioned second in the South African Conference with 13 points while Jaguares languish at the bottom with nine points.

It was the visitors who got the first points in the game with a touchdown from Bautista Delguy coming in the fifth minute but the response from Stormers came strong with Daniel du Plessis crossing over in the 18th minute and SP Marais kicking a penalty and the conversion on either side to make it 10-5.

Joaquin Diaz Bonilla, who missed the conversion early on narrowed down the gap to two points with his maiden penalty kick in the 26th minute but Stormers had momentum heading into the break with Marais kicking back to back three pointers as the first half ended with a 16-8 scoreline.

As Jaguares failed to score any point in the second half further tries from Siya Kolisi (47'), Hershel Jantjies (60') and Justin Phillips (73') ensured Stormers completed a 35-8 bonus point victory - their first five-pointer in three wins this season.
