Stormers 17-7 Jaguares, DHL Newlands
Scorecard

Stormers maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing Super Rugby tournament as they edged out Jaguares 17-7 at DHL Newlands.

This is Stormers' fourth win from as many games as they occupy the top place in South African Conference while Jaguares are at third place.

Damian Willemse got Stormers off the mark with a 13th minute penalty goal but two minutes later they suffered a setback with Frans Malherbe sin-binned for a dangerous tackle.

Jaguares failed to capitalise on the advantage as stern defence from the hosts ensured the teams went into the break with a 3-0 scoreline.

Stormers were quick to get off the block in the second half with Herschel Jantjies dotting down five minutes after the break and eight minutes later Ruhan Nel also went over the line. Willemse also kicked both the conversions as the scoreline became 17-7.

Jaguares came close to score the opening try when a driving maul from a five-metre lineout took them over the line but was denied as the replays showed ball was held up. However, they shortly got their first points when Rodrigo Bruni dived at the back of the attacking scrum. Domingo Miotti kicked the extras as they reduced the deficit to 10 points.

As another Jaguares try was held off for an offside, they failed to get any more breakthroughs as Stormers completed a 17-7 win.
