Sharks returned back to winning ways as they outplayed Rebels with a 24-36 win in their Super Rugby clash at Mars Stadium on Saturday.

This is Sharks' third win from four games as they move to the second place in the South African Conference while Rebels are at third place in Australian group.

Sharks took just four minutes to open their account as Makazole Mapimpi scored the opening try and Curwin Bosch followed with the conversion to make it 7-0 but Rebels went on to level the scores in the ninth minute as Marika Koroibete went over the line.

The South African side seized back the lead with a try from Marika Koroibete following which Andrew Deegan and Bosch traded penalties making the scoreline 10-15 in the half-hour mark.

As the half-time was approaching, Madosh Tambwe dotted down for Sharks' third try in the game and with Bosch improving the scoreline became 10-22 but the visitors suffered setback at the start of the second half with Kerron van Vuuren and Tambwe sin-binned in the 43rd and 46th minutes respectively.

Rebels made use of the numerical advantage with Isi Naisarani crossing over but Mapimpi's second in the 64th minute followed by a converted try from Bosch took Sharks to a position of safety with a 17-36 lead which proved enough despite a consolation try from Anaru Rangi in the closing stage.
