The Springboks have claimed three of the four nominations for the Men’s 15s Player of the Year at the 2025 World Rugby Awards, with Pieter-Steph du Toit, Malcolm Marx and Ox Nche all shortlisted.
Meanwhile, teammate Ethan Hooker is nominated in the Breakthrough Player of the Year category.
Du Toit, a two-time winner of the top prize (2019, 2024), could become the first Springbok to win a third title. He is joined by Marx and Nche, along with France's Louis Bielle-Biarrey in the nomination.
In the Breakthrough category, Hooker competes against Fabian Holland of New Zealand, Henry Pollock of England and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii of Australia.
SA Rugby President Mark Alexander praised the quartet, highlighting South Africa’s standing on the international stage.
“To have three of the four nominees for Player of the Year, and a nomination in the Breakthrough category, is a testament to the quality of our players.”
The winners will be announced on Saturday, 22 November, with the Dream Team unveiled on Tuesday, 25 November.
