The Springboks’ 32-17 victory over France in Paris has enabled them to stretch their margin over second-placed All Blacks in the World Rugby Men’s Rankings.

The win gave South Africa a rating-point gain of 0.86, lifting them to 93.06, while New Zealand picked up 0.36 points to reach 91.35, putting the gap between first and second at 1.71 points.

Elsewhere in the rankings: the Italy moved into 10th place with 78.98 rating points after their 26-19 upset of Australia , narrowing the margin over 9th-placed Fiji , who sit on 81.15 points.

Meanwhile, Argentina claimed 84.30 points and moved to 6th in the rankings after a 52-28 victory over Wales in Cardiff, keeping the Welsh at 12th.

England with their ninth consecutive win overall and recently beating Fiji 38-18 are at fourth place in the rankings with 88.06 points while Australia are at seventh with 81.69 points.
