South African rugby star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is facing another spell on the sidelines following an injury sustained during the Stormers' 29-10 victory over the Lions in the United Rugby Championship (URC).

The 22-year-old flyhalf was forced off the field in the 27th minute after a tackle by Lions prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye.

This injury adds to a challenging year for Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who only recently returned from knee surgery after an earlier injury sustained against the All Blacks.

Stormers’ Director of Rugby, John Dobson, shared details on Feinberg-Mngomezulu's condition, describing it as a "hip pointer" injury. He explained the uncertainty surrounding the recovery timeline.

"It could be two days, could be a couple of weeks," Dobson said.

The flyhalf's premature exit continues a frustrating pattern for the player, with Dobson jokingly remarking, "I’ve just said to him now it would be nice for him to get to half-time for us at some stage."

Stormers forward coach Rito Hlungwani highlighted Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s value to the squad, both on and off the field. Despite injuries, the young playmaker has remained actively involved in team dynamics.

"Even when injured, he is always around," Hlungwani said. "He always wants to give back to the team in terms of analysing and contributing with feedback."
