South Africa have retained their third position in the World Rugby Rankings following the latest round of the Rugby Championship which was claimed by New Zealand.

The Boks entered the final game of the competition against the Pumas needing a bonus point win with a point difference of 40 or more to win the tournament.

Even though Jasper Wiese, Siya Kolisi and Kurt-Lee Arendse touched down and they were awarded two penalty tries, they managed to win the encounter with a 38-21 margin which saw them finish second.
