Leicester Tigers have announced that six players will be heading to Championship club Nottingham for a season-long loan deal.

Joe Browning, Lewis Chessum, Jacob Cusick, Sam Edwards, Tim Hoyt and Archie Vanes are amongst the players to head to Nottingham after the two clubs announced a formal performance partnership earlier in the month.

Browning had already represented Nottingham on a short-term deal last season while hooker Vanes will be joining the club at the back of a successful campaign with England Under 20 side after being part of a Grand Slam triumph.

Scrum-half Edwards co-captained the Tigers Academy to a third successive Under-18 League win in 2020 alongside Vanes.

Chessum, Cusick and Hoyt made the step up to senior rugby from the Academy programme ahead of the current season.

“This is a great opportunity for these young men to not only get valuable game time in the upcoming season but also exposure to senior rugby which is vital to their development," said Borthwick to the club's official website.

“The partnership with Nottingham is something we are excited about at Leicester Tigers for its many elements, especially opportunities like this for our players to be a part of their programme.”
