Ireland scrum half Jamison Gibson-Park believes the series win over New Zealand is the best moment of his career.

Born in New Zealand, Gibson-Park started playing for Blues in 2013 but had a even successful stint with Hurricanes after winning the Super Rugby title with them.

He qualified to play for Ireland under World Rugby's residency rules in 2019 and made his international debut during the 2020 Six Nations.

The 30-year-old was pivotal in Ireland registering their maiden series win over New Zealand that came following wins in Dunedin and Wellington. The result also took Andy Farrell's men claimed the top position in the World Rugby Rankings pushing New Zealand to fourth place.

“The best by far,” he said.

“I mean I have had some special moments over my career and this was definitely the best. It was pretty surreal when the final whistle went.

"Obviously as part of a 2016 squad winning Super Rugby here – I didn’t play a massive part that year so I suppose that has a little bit to do with it as well – but it was a pretty amazing feeling.

“We are obviously unbelievably grateful for the support from the people back in Ireland and even for those in the crowd today and over the last couple of weeks.

"It has just been really amazing to see Irish people walking the streets around Auckland, Dunedin and Wellington, knowing they’re here to support us. I hope they are proud of us.”
