New Zealand 22-32 Ireland, Sky Stadium

Ireland managed to hold off a second half fightback from New Zealand as they sealed a 32-22 win in the third and deciding Test at Sky Stadium to register a historic series victory.

Having registered their first win over the All Blacks in New Zealand last weekend in Dunedin, Andy Farrell's men now have claimed their maiden series victory in the Kiwi soil.

New Zealand made a late change to the starting line up as Scott Barrett was ruled out due to an Achilles injury and Akira Ioane was promoted from the bench to blindside flank with Tupou Vaai named on the bench.

Ireland opened their account early in the fifth minute as Johnny Sexton kicked a penalty to the corner and following a line out drive, Josh van der Flier touched down for the opening try but the conversion went wide.

New Zealand had an opportunity to respond but Jordie Barrett missed a penalty chance in the 9th minute but made amends in the 23rd minute as Sexton was penalised for not rolling away with the fullback slotting the three pointer this time.

Andy Farrell's men extended their lead further as James Lowe was stopped before he recycled and sent an inside pass for Hugo Keenan to crossover and Sexton kicked a conversion and a penalty goal to make it 3-15.

As the break was approaching, a long delayed pass from Sexton sent Bundee Aki, who in turn found Robbie Henshaw as he dotted down as Andy Farrell's men went into the break with a 3-22 lead.

New Zealand showed better intent in the second half as Ardie Savea overcame tackles from Beirne and Furlong to score and Jordie kicked the conversion to reduce the gap down to 12 points.

The 51st minute saw Ireland lose Andrew Porter to yellow card by referee Wayne Barnes for a head on collision with collision with Brodie Retallick and the All Blacks capitalised on the numerical advantage as Akia Ioane beat tackles from Dan Sheehan and Van der Flier to score their third try and Jordie improved it to make it 17-22.

As Sam Cane was penalised for a scrum infringement, Sexton landed a three-pointer in the 54th minute but the Irish skipper missed another chance at the goal at the end of the third quarter.

New Zealand brought the gap down to just three points as Will Jordan sprinted on to the try line after collecting a Savea pass but Jordie missed out on the conversion. With 15 minutes left in the game, Rob Herring dived over at the back of a rolling maul and Sexton kicked the extras to make it 22-32.

As the game entered the final phase, New Zealand launched attack in phases but were held back by firm Ireland defence as they completed a historic triumph over the All Blacks.
