National 2 North Highlights - Sedgley Hit Record 17 Tries Against Dudley

Within 30 seconds of kick off the game had worrying hallmarks. A powerful scrum by Hymes, Matthews and Ashcroft was surprisingly penalised by the referee and a kickable penalty was awarded to Dudley KW.

That powerful scrum was to be joined by incredibly powerful free-running rugby by the whole of the Tigers team. Hooker Matthews was joined by back row forwards Lamprey, Bishop and Emmerson running repeatedly at the DkW team.

Time after time, the defensive line broken and tries scored - 17 by Sedgley while Dudley managed three in reply.

The Tigers back line were getting wonderful ball and not disappointing the home crowd. The Riley brothers were interacting across the park and by the last 20 minutes of the game it looked like a try would result from every re-start.

The match highlights will not be good viewing for DkW but they stuck at their task, their backs ran great attacking lines when they had the ball, and their line out was superior to the Tigers'.

For Sedgley Tigers this was a big win in National 2N and a try-fest for their supporters. The line out needs improvement before next week's game against Birmingham and the Tigers must continue their winning ways to keep pressure on the top three.

This win leaves Sedgley with 55 points from 14 matches, two points behind Stourbridge in third place while both have work to do to catch leaders Macclesfield (63 points) and Darlington Mowden Park (60 points).
