Bristol Bears have confirmed that scrum-half Tom Kessell will leave the Gallagher Premiership club at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Kessell joined Bristol in August last year as an injury cover for Chris Cook and enjoyed European Challenge Cup triumph with the club last season. He went on to play six Premiership games for the club since then.

The 31-year-old will head to Championship side Cornish Pirates next season for a second stint after starting his professional rugby career with them between 2011 and 2015.

He also played for Northampton Saints between 2015 and 2018 making 22 appearances for them and also had a brief stint with Coventry between 2018 and 2020 before joining Bristol Bears.

Bristol currently hold the top place in the Gallagher Premiership table with 15 wins from 20 games and will take on Leicester Tigers in the 21st round on 5th June.
