Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has called up London Irish prop Allan Dell to the Six Nations squad ahead of the tournament opener against England on 6th February.

The decision follows after Glasgow Warriors loosehead Jamie Bhatti is sidelined with a hand injury.

Dell has played 32 Tests for Scotland since his international debut in 2016 but has not featured for the Dark Blues since the 2020 Six Nations tournament.

The 29-year-old has made 12 appearances for London Irish in the ongoing season and had represented Edinburgh and Scotland Under 20 sides in the past. He was also part of the British and Irish Lions squad that competed in the 2017 tour of New Zealand but did not in feature in any of the three Tests.

The Scottish Rugby also revealed that Josh Bayliss has not joined the squad and is undergoing rehabilitation with his club Bath Rugby.
