Scarlets 15 - 10 Cardiff Blues, Llanelli

Scarlets managed to edge the Cardiff Blues by 15-10 in a hard-fought derby on Sunday to still firmly remain alive in the hunt for the Guinness Pro12 play-offs.

Winger Steffan Evans scored the opening try of the match for the hosts on the 11th minute. Fly-half Rhys Patchell failed to score the conversion although his 30th minute penalty helped Scarlets take a five point lead at the half-time whistle after fly-half Steve Shingler's 33rd minute penalty proved out to be the only scoring contribution for the visitors.

Centre Scott Williams crossed over for the second try of the match on the 46th minute as Patchell successfully managed to add extras on this occasion.

Centre Willis Halaholo's 53rd minute converted try returned the deficit for Cardiff back to five points, however, the visitors failed to make any further addition to their scoreline as Scarlets cruised home to a five point victory.

It is a result that leaves the hosts in the hunt for a play-off but sees the visitors slipping out of the picture.
